Inquisitive. Individualistic. Independent.

Montessori education is characterized by an emphasis on independence and a discovery model for learning. As Maria Montessori so eloquently said, “Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavor always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence.” Montessori education also prioritizes the outdoor classroom, and our students spend ample time outdoors.

Palisades Montessori’s Primary Program is a warm and loving community of 24 children. Our beautiful classroom is a fully-licensed and equipped facility that looks and feels like “school,” but is based inside a private home. This gives young children extra comfort, as they build confidence in a new setting, often experiencing independence for the first time.

Community is an important part of Palisades Montessori. With a capacity of just 24 students, Palisades Montessori provides families a unique chance to build new friendships and experience the joys of preschool learning within a network of strong community bonds.

Primary Program Details

The Palisades Montessori Primary Program provides an authentic Montessori education during the school year only (September – June annually). We welcome children into our vibrant community who are between the ages of three and five years. The Primary Program operates from 8:30AM-12:00PM from September to June annually, and observes federal holidays and regular school vacations. Families may add on an optional Lunch Program and/or extended day options. The Primary Program is closed during the summer months for summer vacation.

The Palisades Montessori Program Program admissions process gives priority to five-day applicants. Any remaining spaces in a given year may be offered to three- and two-day applicants. Please note that it is rare that the school has any two- or three-day spaces to offer.

Palisades Montessori does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, or creed. We are committed to seeking a diverse student population that includes children from a variety of racial, ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. Children with special needs that we are able to accommodate within our program are welcome.

We look forward to welcoming you to our community, and nurturing your child during these early days of tremendous possibility!
